What I Wore Wednesday...

For the past two years I feel like I have lost myself, but I also feel like I found someone that wasn’t there before, a mother.  Not sure if that makes any sense at all, but since I have become a mother all I care about is my kids (and of course my husband).  And I have kinda let myself go.  The past week I have forced myself to get up in the morning, and put myself together.  I’m trying to get myself back to where I once was.  This journey hasn’t been as easy as I thought it would be.  The confidence I once had in my body, isn’t there anymore.  As any woman that has had kids knows, your body changes.  Usually you end up with wider hips, a bigger butt, and don’t even get me started on the top part, my beloved chest.  Thank goodness for push-up bras, that is all I have to say.  My clothes don’t fit me the way I once liked them to fit, and it’s hard.  I look in the mirror, and right now, I don’t like what I see most of the time.  So here’s to the journey of finding the perfect outfit, and myself along the way!

Below you will find several outfits I wore this past week.  As I noted last week, I’m trying to recycle the clothes I have in my closest and find different ways, to wear different pieces.  I will say, my husband has found it quite amusing, me asking him to take my picture before I leave for work each morning...  And I have found it completely awkward, posing infront of him each morning, which you will be able to see in the pictures.  I need to work on this a little...

Today has been a big day for my little angel!  She officially crawled for the first time today!  I'm sad that I missed it!  But excited for her!  She also situp on her own from a crawling position!  And, she got her first tooth tonight!  She was really fussy this evening, and had her hand in her mouth most of the night.  Poor baby girl, I hate that her mouth was hurting her so bad.  Hopefully it will be better tomorrow, since the tooth has broke through the skin.  The kids are in bed finally, and I'm enjoying some peace and quiet before I join them in dreamland.  Baby girl, please stay asleep tonight.  Mama can't pull another all nighter.

Hey sweetie, you sure have had a big day today!  Congratulations on crawling, being able to situp on your own, and getting your first tooth!  Bubba better watchout now, you are truly going to be into all of his stuff.

Yes baby, I see Sophie…  We love Sophie, the best $20 I might have ever spent for you.

Goodnight sweet angels!

xoxo, Shanna

  2. Visiting from Pleated Poppy ~ Love your outfits!! And your baby? SOO adorable. I'm expecting my first baby, and already worried about the struggle to stay "myself". It's hard not to get frustrated with the changes!

  3. Hi honey. What an exciting day for Lady Ashlynn and while we're all happy for and her accomplishments it's a little bittersweet for all of us bcus she's growing up so quickly. She's so beautiful. Looking at your fashion show you showed us on your blog....I happen to think you look very nice. We're all our own worst critic & I know you feel as though your body has changed from b4 you had children but you still look the same to all of us. You never seem to gain any weight and you've always been the perfect size. Papa says your looking good. You mothers and future mothers hang on there...the rest of us admire and respect you and I for one think you superwomen.

    Love you,
    Auntie Pat
