What a day...

What a day...  My day started at 4:30 this morning, when our dogs decided they wanted to bark, at who knows what.  That makes for a long day, when you are woke up that early.  So, I automatically, wasn’t in the best mood.  M & A, actually got up at their normal time.  But for whatever reason, they too were in a bad mood, which leads us to, WHAT A DAY!

Our little man M, can now officially climb out of his crib.  When we put him down today for a nap, he wasn’t happy, and was throwing a tantrum.  I gave him a few minutes, and then looked at the monitor and saw him running around his room.  I just assumed his daddy got him out of his bed, to try and calm him down, since he was upset.  On my way to his room, my husband comes out of our room, asking what was going on.  At that point, we both realized M had climbed out of his crib.  The look on both of our faces, I’m sure was priceless.  We both go into M’s room, and ask him to show us how he got out of his crib, and sure enough, he showed us.  Again, the look on our faces, I’m sure was priceless.  I was hoping we were going to be able to keep him in a crib for at least a few more months.  I’m not ready for him to be in a toddler or full size bed.  M was too excited about being able to climb out of his crib, that we weren’t able to get him down for a nap.  We tried leaving him in his room, thinking he would eventually just pass out on the floor, but no, he just pulled all of his clothes out of his dresser.  I wasn’t too happy about that.  And at this point, I was beyond ready for M to take an hour or so nap, I needed a break.  What mother doesn’t look forward to nap time!?!  Especially after a rough morning with two kiddos.  All I have to say is thank you Auntie Pat & JR for coming over today!  Our little man finally crushed this evening at 8:00.  Which I have to say is nice.  M hasn’t been to bed by 8:00 in almost a year.  And our little girl is in bed too, so I finally have some peace and quiet.
Somedays, you wake up and everything goes as it should, or as planned.  It's what I call those award winning days.  They don't happen often...  And today, I can honestly say, nothing really went as it should, or as I had planned in my head.
But on a positive note, last week I had made a pasta dish I came across on The Pioneer Woman’s blog.  For starters anyone that knows me, knows I don’t cook, EVER.  So, when I told my husband I wanted to cook dinner, he wanted to know if I was running a fever, and what happened to his wife.  The pasta dish looked pretty easy, so I gave it a try, and all I have to say is Y-U-M-M-Y!  Everyone enjoyed the dish so much, my husband asked me to fix it again this weekend.  Here are some pictures of M last weekend, enjoying the pasta dish:

Sweet boy, I sure do love you!

I love to see you smile, it makes my day!  You & your sister have the sweetest smiles!

LOVE IT!!!  I will be finding more dishes for me to cook.  So I hope each dish puts a smile this big on your face, each time!
Part of my new years resolution this year, is to try and cook more.  My husband has always been the cook, and I know he gets tired of always being the one that has to cook dinner for our family.  So far we are off to a good start.
As I was loading pictures this evening to our computer, I came across the following pictures of M:

I love

when I

come across

these pictures!
M loves getting ahold of the camera, and taking pictures of himself.  They always put a smile on my face.  At the end of  the day, no matter how stressful it started out, I always reflect back on the day, and tell myself, I wouldn't have my life any other way.  I'm truly blessed, with a wonderful husband, and two amazing beautiful kiddos.  I'm still learning and growing as a mother.  But I always try to do what is right, or what works best for our kiddos.

xoxo, Shanna

  2. It is called Pasta with tomato cream sauce. Below is the link. It is so YUMMY! I have also tried her Meatloaf, and it was really good. I actually turned some of the meatloaf into meatballs, that Mike put into our spaghetti the other night, it was really good too. I also made her Simple Sesame Noodles, and they were good. You should check out her blog. She also has a blog called Tasty Kitchen, were other woman join in with their recipes. I figured it was time for me to give Mike a break in the kitchen! Enjoy, you will have to let me what you think of the pasta dish.
