And it's only Wednesday...

It’s only Wednesday…  It feels like I have put in more time for it to only be Wednesday, wait because I have…  I think I have worked harder while working from home, than when I’m in the office and I didn’t think that was possible, since I by nature always work hard.  So I’m ready to get back in the office so I can have break (but don’t tell my boss).  It’s too easy when you don’t have anything else to do, to work nonstop.  So pretty much I start working at 7:30, and don’t end until 5:30 or later.  The only thing missing is my chocolate duet cookie from Panera.  When I finally get released to drive, that just might be the first place I go!   Rocky road ice cream has nothing on that cookie, but it will have to do for now.

I have gotten into some really bad habits while being home.   The little man and I have become night owls over the last few weeks, not good.  We are usually in bed around 9:00, and since being home I have been staying up until midnight and the little man has been going to bed around 10:00 sometimes later.  And I don’t understand why it is different.  I’m working every bit more, as I do when I’m in the office, and have two screaming kiddos that are constantly getting into everything.  One would think that come 9:00 I would be passed smooth out, but it is the opposite.  I guess I crave the much needed quiet time that is why I have been staying up.  And we are still letting the little man sleep in our bed.  So, I have some hard habits that I need to start breaking.

Photobucket

I am ready to break free, this house is closing in on me.  But I keep telling myself not much longer, but I still have a few weeks to go.   Someone might need to come help the husband and kiddos, if we keep going at the rate we are right now, I’m going to snap the mood I have been in.  And the next few weeks are going to be booked with doctor appointment after doctor appointment.  But I guess it is better to find all this out now vs later.  I’m just tired of stressing over everything.  I’m not the first to be diagnosed with these problems, and I won’t be the last.  I need to trust the doctors, and let them do their job.  I just hope I don’t get anymore surprises, I can’t take anymore.

Photobucket

Funny little moment, the little man and I were just getting ready for bed, and I went through the whole give mama a kiss, give me another one, and another one, okay one more…  You get the idea, I can do this for like 30 minutes.  So I said can you say I love you mama, then he turns around and farts three times in a row and says mama!  A kid after my own heart, I sure do love you!  Of course we both busted out laughing!  We are getting ready to enjoy some cuddle time, and watch a little George before we turn the lights out.

Goodnight sweet angels!

Where ya been...

Where ya been…?

Photobucket
***This little one loves some rocky road ice cream, a girl after my own heart***

I have been in hiding the last couple of days, being lazy, not getting out of my pajamas, eating lots of ice cream, and trying to enjoy family time.  But the last couple of days have been filled with sick kiddos, a grumpy mama from my foot killing me, along with everyone else in the house being cranky.  So when I say trying to enjoy family time, that is just what it means.

The same little boy that likes to pick his nose and pretends  to eat his buggers, enjoyed telling mama how gross her toe looks.  The other night he came into the bathroom while I was soaking my foot, he looked down at my toe, then looked at me and side EWW Mama.  My toe is really gross looking, it makes me sick in my stomach to look at it, but it was so funny to hear my little man say EWW Mama.

I was able to enjoy a much needed shower today, all by myself!  I think my children have bathed more than I have in the past couple of weeks.  It's a pain, having to try and take a shower without getting my foot wet, and trying to keep the weight off of my right leg.  Not an easy task, so I have just been doing without a shower.  The husband is totally loving me right now, going two days without a shower, and baby snot all over my shirt, along with spit-up, and food from two days ago.  He is one lucky guy, that all I have to say...

I'm getting ready to take my lazy self to bed, and enjoy hopefully a good six hours of sleep.  I probably won't get that lucky, but it would be nice.  My brain needs a break.  So little man, I need you to let mama sleep.

 Goodnight sweet angels!

The reality of it...

Life has been a little chaotic the last few days…  I feel like every time I turn around it is something, and I’m a little tired of it.  But the reality of it, life is hard sometimes.  The last few days have been hard emotionally, physically and mentally.

******
I can’t believe in less than two weeks my little girl is going to be ONE!  And I have so many projects that need to be completed before her birthday party, but I’m excited.  Since I finally decided on what it is I'm going to do, things are finally coming together.  I’m just overwhelmed with the fact my daughter is going to be ONE, and that my son will be THREE come November.  It truly hit me the other day that my son is going to be THREE.

Photobucket

Right now, I'm just trying to soak up all the time I can with the kiddos, and be in this moment here, right now.

Photobucket

I need to hold on to these moments as long as I can.

Photobucket

Because the reality of it is, this little one will be turning THREE, and then that means the little man will be going on FIVE before I know it!  This is torture on a mother!  I want to hold onto my babies, and at times I can feel them pulling away.  They both want to do things themselves, and show they have a voice.  While that is a good thing, it is hard for a mother at times.

Photobucket

Baby girl, it upsets mama too…

Photobucket

We are calling it a night, as you can see we are tired.  The kiddos are tired from playing hard, and I’m tired of sitting around the house!

Goodnight sweet angels!

What I Wore Wednesday...

Today is the day, the day they take the stitches out…  I’m nervous, I’ve never had stitches removed before.  And when the doctor told me to take pain medicine before my visit, that caused me to become what some make call a nervous wreck, my anxiety has kicked in high gear, my jaws are locked, and I was grinding my teeth all night. I don’t deal well with anything that causes me pain!

Here is the stylish shoe I have been wearing for over a week.

Photobucket

Isn't it fabulous!?!  Don’t you wish you could be sporting one!  I’m so ready for the shoe and blue wrap to be gone!  But the shoe isn’t going anywhere anytime soon...

I will be linking up with The Pleated Poppy, for What I Wear Wednesday.  Not a lot to showcase this week, just one outfit.

That's all he wanted...

Hi, I’m Shanna, thanks for hanging out with us!  Just wanted to say thank you for reading our little blog, and getting to be a part of this wonderful journey we are on!

Photobucket

This is my playful, sweet, handsome son.  He amazes me every day!  He’s my little jokester, and loves putting things together with his daddy!  He loves cuddle time with mama at night, and playing with his sister (most of the time).  But aside from all of that, he has a deep love for ketchup…  I mean everyone eats ketchup by its self, right!

Photobucket
***Yummy, it's finger licking good***

This is my beautiful, precious, over dramatic daughter(my little diva).  She seriously ran yesterday for the first time. I can’t believe my daughter is walking for starters, and now that she can run, we are in trouble, all of this before she is a year old!  She loves her bubba, adores her father, and drives her mama crazy!  We now can’t afford to feed her, since she now eats more than all of us, no kidding.  She is the last one at the table at breakfast, lunch and dinner cleaning her plate and the rest of ours.  She wants nothing to do with baby food...  And she is becoming quite the little jokester herself...

Photobucket

The husband had a very nice day yesterday with the kiddos, and me of course.  We took it easy, since I’m not able to do anything…  I know what a bummer...  But at the end of the day, that's all he wanted was to be with his family, and to take it easy.

Photobucket

This little boy sure does love his daddy, and his daddy sure does love him!

Photobucket

This sweet little one is crazy about her daddy, and no question about it, her daddy is crazy about her too!  She's is a lot like her daddy too…

There is nothing like family time, I love just hanging at the house and being goofy with the fam.  We are pretty good at entertaining each other at this house...

We are getting ready to call it a night.  Cheers to Monday coming to an end!

Happy Father's Day...

Happy Father's day to this man…

Photobucket

This man that is my handsome husband that I’m head over heels in love with.

This man that is an amazing father to our two precious babies.

Photobucket

I love seeing him with our baby girl, he is so very gentle with her.  She is a daddy's girl, and he wouldn't have it any other way.  But, I'm sure later in life she will use that to her advantage to get what she wants with those big brown eyes of hers.

These two are partners in crime and like to aggravate mama, from time to time.  But besides aggravating mama, daddy is teaching the little man about life.  Whether it is them watching or playing sports together, fixing something in the house, vacuuming the house or mowing the yard, he is always letting the little man help out.

As it’s not always easy being a parent, my husband has truly shown me another side that I had never seen before we had kids.  But, I’m sure he might would say the same about me.  My husband is the one that tends to the house and makes sure our kiddos are taken care every day.  He makes them laugh, he's there for them when they cry, and he shows them love in everything he does.

Happy Father’s Day honey!  Thank you for being so patient (most of the time), caring and loving!  We love you and thank you for everything you do, each and every day! I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life or a better father for our babies!

The new obsession...

The little man has a new obsession…

Photobucket

Oh, I bet you didn’t see this one coming… What little boy doesn't love trains!

Photobucket

And when I say obsession, I mean obsession.  We have to watch train videos on YouTube, on the iPad every night before bedtime.  I just can’t believe how many people take videos of trains and upload it to YouTube, really.  One could say, I truly live in my own world.  I'm amazed at what videos we have found on YouTube...  I guess one might also say I need broaden my horizons, especially now that I have kids.

Okay I got a little off subject, we are talking about the little man and trains, not really videos on YouTube.

Photobucket

The little man has an awesome daddy, to take him to Heritage Park to look at the trains in 100 degree weather!  The things we do for our babies!

Photobucket

Farmer Brown and I are going to get back to watching our

videos.

Photobucket

Sissy I understand, I don’t get all the hype about this train business either.

Photobucket

Happy Saturday!

Same place, a year later...

You know where I was last year at this time?

Photobucket

Bed rest, waiting the arrival of my precious baby girl!

You know where I am a year later?  Same place, but I’m not awaiting the arrival of a sweet baby.  But I am eating like I'm expecting one though.  Bring on the ice cream, cupcakes, any & everything sweet and I will be happy!

I was miserable then, and I’m miserable now!  Being stuck in the house, not being able to do anything but stare at the TV or computer, isn't much fun after so many days.  The doctor has me off of my foot, with instructions to keep it elevated pretty much all day.  Even when I sleep the foot is suppose to be elevated.  I have learned in life, nothing is ever easy when it comes to me!

But I am enjoying the family time.  I enjoy getting to wake up to my son vs the alarm.  I love to hear him come over to my side of the bed, and say mama, mama, MAMA! I enjoy getting to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with my family.  I enjoy having them around, even if they are getting to play while I have to work.  So, I'm not completely miserable since I do have two little ones that keep me pretty entertained throughout the day!

Photobucket

The little man and I stayed up late last night, or late for us.  We didn’t go to bed until almost 11:00, not a good habit to start.  So today we have been a little tired.  I have a feeling we will be going to bed here shortly.

Photobucket

Tomorrow is Friday, you got any big plans for the weekend?  My weekend will consist of a whole lot of nothing...  That's not true, because it will be loaded with lots of time with my babies, and I wouldn't trade that in for anything!  Even if I will be the bum on the couch with a jacked up foot, that screams if anyone gets near it.

Okay, off to bed we go...  Goodnight sweet angels!

I thought I wanted it...

How I longed and needed some  peace & quiet in my life…  But once I had it, I missed the sound of little feet hitting the tile, the sound of laughter, the screaming of mama, and the sound of my two precious babies playing together!  Sometimes just what you wish you had, isn’t what you truly wanted in the end.

Photobucket

It has been a long painful couple of days.  I pretty much slept Friday, Saturday and Sunday away.  I went to the doctor on Monday for my first post-op visit.  I was so out of it on Friday, I didn’t realize everything that had been done.  Yes I had a bone spur removed, but the bone spur was larger than what the X-ray and MRI showed.  Then, my toenail was embedded into my skin (from where it had grown back from when I had it removed back in 2010), and was wrapped around my toe/bone under my skin (I don't even understand how that is possible).  So, the doctor had to go in to remove part my toenail and the skin around my toe.  I have around 15 stitches right now, and my toe/foot hurts extremely bad (I have a few other choice words, but I’m going to keep it G rated).  I’m now off work for the next six weeks.  Once the stitches are removed, I will have to do some physical therapy.  What happened to this being an in/out surgery!?!  I did work some yesterday from home, but today I put in a good 7 hours of work (from home), and it left me very exhausted.  It’s fair to say tomorrow, I will need to take it a little slower than just jumping right in like I did today.

While mama has been in pain, grumpy, emotional, and crying like a baby…  The kiddos have been having fun and enjoying what summer has to offer.  Daddy took them to the bounce house yesterday...

Photobucket

And today they went to a splash pad...

Photobucket

Of course I’m glad my babies are getting to enjoy summer, and not having to be locked indoors like mama, but I’m sad that I missing ALL of it.  As I said last week, can I have a ticket to a pity party for one, please!

It has been a long day!

Goodnight sweet angels!
