A little paint never hurt anyone...

As of this morning, I had gotten (if lucky) two hours of sleep in the last 36 hours…
 photo 50805a19-de00-446c-9c87-de714fd84ca3.jpg
Today I have walked around like a zombie, afraid to look outside.  It has been a hang around the house kinda day.  My sweet angel has been up the past two nights.  I should have known the first night that she was up, that she was getting sick.  She started running a fever late yesterday, and last night she spent most of the night crying and not being able to get comfortable.  My husband did let me take a two hour nap today; to rest up for what I predict will be another long night.  With the way she has been acting this afternoon, you can't even look at her, without her screaming and crying.  I sure hope I'm wrong, and my baby girl gets a good night's rest...
So, what do you do when your brain doesn’t work…  You forget that you have an A-Type personality, and let the kids make a mess. photo cc612b97-cdd8-41f0-8057-f01ccd846c1f.jpg

I have to say, this was the first time all weekend that these two actually got along and played nice.  For a moment I thought we should do this every day, if it will give me 30-45 minutes of peace and quiet, and then the paint hit the floor, and I freaked.

Thank you little ones, for letting me join you in the hand painting today!

Happy Sunday Funday, it is a gorgeous day out!  Hopefully tomorrow my little girl will feel better so we can enjoy the sun!

Someone was in train heaven...

What better place to go see so many trains than your eyes can believe, than North Park!?!  I honestly didn’t think it was possible for someone to have more trains than us…

Photobucket

But I was wrong, they outnumbered us by ONE!
Photobucket
While I was getting put under, to be stabbed in the back, the kiddos got to have fun looking at the trains.  This adorable little boy was in serious train heaven!
Photobucket
Who could blame him...  Just looking at the pictures I can tell it was a site to see!

Happy rainy Monday!  The rain I was glad was gone, has found its way back!
Goodnight sweet angels!

Sometimes it just is...

Sometimes it just is, if you know what I mean…  I have found the hardest part of parenting for me, is when both kids are sick, and so is mama….  Or they are full of energy and mama is sick…
Right now as usual, it seems to be common theme in our parts, both kids are sick and so was mama the night before.  Come yesterday morning, I could barely lift my head. And even though the kids are sick, it is different than when the adults are sick.  The needy part isn’t different I guess, but I give my kids medicine, and it’s as if they just ate a bowl of sugar.  Of course I’m not going to let them suffer, and run a fever…  But why on earth does the medicine give them the energy of 20 kids!?!
This is what I was thinking yesterday, as I could barely lift my head from the couch, and I had two little ones full of energy.  All I wanted was their energy, and to feel better after being up (yet another) night!
Thankful me for (but not soon enough), the Aunt and Uncle (as always) came to my rescue, and took care of the kids while I got to just close my eyes for about an hour.  On a good night I get maybe 3-4 hours of sleep, but lately, I haven’t even been getting that!
Photobucket

Yesterday was a big day; it was my Nana’s first Christmas party at the nursing home.  So, no matter how bad I felt, I knew it was extremely important for her and our family for me to find at least a little energy to get me through it.  So I did, we went, and the kids got to see Nana AND Santa Claus!  Can’t say it was a joyous afternoon with Santa, but at least they did get to see him, and actual got to spend time with him, without being just a number at the mall, if you know what I mean.  I think we ended up with about half of his bag of candy canes...
Photobucket
Someone was more interested in the iPhone, than Santa...
Photobucket
Who is the crazy person touching me, Dar!?!  I will not let go of you, make him stop, pretty please...
Photobucket
But leave it to the great grandparents, to get her to take a picture with Santa...

It was really a nice afternoon, I’m glad I didn’t end up staying home (as that was my first thought).  I would have regretted not being there for my Nana and family.  This has been a big and emotional year for our family, with us putting her in the nursing home, and I have tried hard to make sure at least once week I either go see her, or invite my grandparents to our house to visit.  So no matter how bad I felt, I put it aside (like always), to do the right thing and not miss a special day.  My Nana (and I'm sure my Papa too), were very happy to have the entire family together for a few hours.
The sad part for me yesterday, was learning how many people don’t come and see their parents or grandparents in the nursing home, especially at this time of year.  That is just unreal to me.  As our family has always been close, and see’s each other all the time.  I talk to my Aunt sometimes 4-5 times a day on the phone, and before all this started happening with my Nana, I would talk to her at least twice a day.   When Sue told me this yesterday, it just broke my heart, to know that some of these ladies are all by themselves!  Their family should really be ashamed of themselves.  One son came all the way in for the weekend from LA, I would say if he could make it, the rest of them should have been able too.  Yes, I’m bitter about this.  It’s the holidays; it’s the time for family to be together.   I know it is hard seeing the person you love inside the home, I do it pretty much each week, but at least we are still able to be together.  And at the end, that is what is important!
Photobucket

I do have a lot to do today, we need to get our shop on, and get Christmas shopping done!  I have treatment tomorrow (thank you lord), and I will be down and out for a few days...  This is kinda the last day for me to really try to get most of it done.  Wish me luck!

Hope you and your familys have had a nice weekend.  The sun finally has been out for a few days, and I needed the sun in my life.  When it rains for too many days in a row, I start to get really blue.  So happiness is here today, hopefully.

weekly recap...

I currently have a never-ending pounding headache…  I’ve been trying for two days to get rid of this headache, and it has decided to camp out right behind my right eye.
I’m ready for the husband to come home, I miss him!  This is the first boy trip he has taken in probably five years.  I started crying yesterday when he left, and it didn’t help that my son was asking non-stop where daddy was.  So no more boy trips!

Tomorrow night the girls are getting together and having a girls night.  I haven’t had a girls night out in probably four years.  Looking forward to it, but I will probably be passed in the limo with a “Do Not Disturb” sign on my forehead by 10:30!
******
As for my weekly recap, I've done pretty good this week.  I was down two pounds today, which I think I was down more than that, but I had heavy clothes on when I weighed in, so I will take my two pounds and be happy about it.  I have lost over six pounds since I started doing this.  Yay me!  Now if I could just lose 20 more pounds I would be really happy and back into most of the clothes in my closet that I haven’t been able to wear in over 3 years (thanks to being pregnant back to back).
I truly think the detox is working, and I think it does give me some energy, which is something I truly need.  I have been drinking a lot of water.  I can’t say that I’m eating all that great, but I have cut out the snacking, or most of it.

I’ve got two kiddos that didn’t feel good earlier, but now they seem to have found some energy.  Great, it’s after 9:00, and both of them are running around screaming & laughing.  I have tried several times to get sissy to bed, but all she has done is scream & cry for over 30 minutes each time.  But she is getting ready to go to bed, and will have to cry it out.  Hopefully they will both be nice to mama and let mama sleep in tomorrow morning until 9:00...  I know that won't happen, but here's to wishful thinking and one very tired mama!
Cheers to the weekend!  Glad this week is over; it has been long, emotional, and stressful.  Hope whatever your plans might be for the weekend, that it's a safe one.

Goodnight sweet angels!

***Don’t forget tonight is the last night to enter for the giveaway.  I’m a little shocked that no one has entered  to win a free software, which you can pretty much do anything with.  So, I would say that if you enter tonight, it increases your odds of winning.

Get down...

Hello Friday, as usual I’m happy to see you!  Do you have days, where you just want to stay in bed with a pillow over your head, so you don’t have to be bothered with everything around you, you know life?  Today, more like the past week, has been that way for me.  Today after work all I wanted to do was come home and go to bed, but that wasn’t happening.  I tried convincing my kiddos it was time for bed, but I guess one could say they knew better.   So instead of going to bed, and giving mama a much needed break, my daughter entertained me, by showing me what she has now learned to do…
At least my son was playing on the iPad, being nice and quiet!  I'm sure he got tired of listening to me sound like a broken record…
A, get down!  I'm talking to you, not the wall!
Photobucket

A, please don’t climb on the chairs honey, it isn’t safe!
Photobucket

A, if I have to tell you one more time, you’re going to time-out!
Photobucket

A, 1-2-2-2 okay I’m getting ready to say 3, 3!  GET DOWN!
Photobucket

A, who taught you this?  Because I want to thank them, so get down!
Photobucket

A, where is bubba…?  Why don’t you go bother bubba?  Get down, and go find bubba, okay…  Pretty please!
Photobucket

Yes as you can tell, she runs this house!   Why do you ask!?!  It’s pretty sad, we have no control.  I can’t remember the last time I had control.  I guess it is hard to take mama serious when she has a camera in her hand taking pictures of you…  But sweet angel, I just want evidence to show you later in life, that you didn’t listen or mind.
********
As I noted in this post, I’m going to start holding myself a little more accountable for what I eat.  I truly need to shed the weight.  Friday’s will be the day that I recap what has been consumed.  But since I listed out Monday-Thursday in yesterday’s post, you can click here if you are truly interested in my bad habits.  So onto what I stuffed in my mouth, on this nice Friday.
Breakfast: Blueberry muffin and Dr. Pepper
Lunch: Noodles, chicken, bread, half a slice of cheesecake, and half a Dr. Pepper
Dinner: Salad and half a Dr. Pepper
And, I drank 5 glasses of water throughout the day…
See, not that bad today.  We will see how the weekend goes.
Cheers to the weekend, finally being here!  I will be home all weekend, being a bum on the couch.  How about you, what are you doing?
Goodnight sweet angels!

I'm how old...

As I sit in my bedroom watching the new season of Gossip Girl, yes I realize I’m 32 and watching Gossip Girl but I'm sure I'm not alone, my family has gone for a walk.  I have to say I’m a little sad about this, as I’m ever so happy Gossip Girl is on; I’m also recording it…  But due to my treatment today, I’m supposed to be on bed rest the next 24 hours.  I know what fun times, getting stuck in the back, and then getting to be laid up in bed, while your family goes on without you!  But I have to say, I was truly looking forward to this treatment.  I will take 75% of relief for 10 days, so that I can enjoy the next 10 days with my babies before I head down hill again, until my next treatment!  As usual though, my doctor decided to change things up today.  He now wants me to do physical therapy twice a day, working my foot & leg, until the treatment wears off, and then give my foot & leg a break (usually around 5 days) until I have another treatment, to start the physical therapy backup twice a day.  Not really looking forward to this, he told me that it was going to hurt, but I had to push through it.  I’m a little scared, and WHY couldn't we start with once a day and move our way up to twice a day!?!  I guess go big, or go home!  Guess I will be going home...  I knew it was coming, but the way my other doctor described it to me, it sounded like a day at the spa.  But today it sounded like I was enlisting for boot camp!  I think I will take the day at the spa, so I will be giving my other doctor a call tomorrow.  I mean who would pass up having someone bath you and give you a full body massage, for it all to be considered for medical reasons!?!  Yeah me either, sign me up please!
This past weekend ended up being really long, I mean LONG with two sick babies.  We were able to make it to my nephew’s birthday party on Saturday, but we (by we, I mean the kids & I, the husband went and partied on, in our place) had to skip out on the one on Sunday.

The little super hero's of the day!

Photobucket
My own sweet little super hero in action, before she got so sick...

My poor baby girl was throwing up most of yesterday, and had us up at 2 this morning.  So we are tired, and she is still sick.  Sweet girl, you don't need to lose anymore weight, I need you eating and keeping it down.  Not to mention mama really misses her wild child, I want to see your smile and hear your laugh!

Photobucket

We did enjoy watching Rio, twice, yesterday and did manager to dance around the house like birds.  I’m sure my neighbors probably think I’m a little weird and very loud, but at least my kiddos think I’m funny and love to be around me most of the time, or so I think!?!
Photobucket

Happy Monday, cheers to it almost being over.  I’m going to enjoy the rest of Gossip Girls, and feel like I’m in high school, or maybe college again, OMG!
Goodnight sweet angels!

Btw, I would LOVE a vote or TWO!

Pity party for one...

Can I have a ticket to a pity party for one please!  Oh yes, this post is going to be about ME!  And it may or may not have a little drama…

I’m a little grumpy, mad, upset, irritable, scared, emotional, and very overwhelmed!  I’m going to be having SURGERY, Friday morning!  Back in September of 2010, I had jammed my right great toe really bad, it resulted in me having to see a podiatrist, and due to the damage that had been done to my toe, the toenail had to be pulled (yes it hurt), or so the doctor said.  Over the course of the past few months the pain in that toe has continued to get worse, meaning the pulling of my toenail didn’t fix anything.  A month ago I finally couldn’t take the pain anymore, nor could my blood pressure (holding around 150/100), and went to a different doctor, since the first one didn’t want to listen to what I was saying.  After going over my story and history, they said that I did might have RSD…  Me not knowing at all what that was, she pulled up some info on her computer, and after reading what it had to say, I started to cry and freak out, just a little A LOT!  I was upset, I’m only 31 and to think that I’m now going to have this pain for the rest of my life scared me.  So, she sent me to another doctor that did a series of test.  After reviewing the 100 test I had done over the course of three weeks, they have found several things that worried them, that need to be taken care of as soon as possible.  So that is where the surgery comes into play.

But even with me having surgery, it isn’t going to take care of the RSD… And I don’t do well at all with pain.  And the thought of surgery STRESSES me out!  The one and only time I have ever had surgery, I ended up getting a staph infection, and then after I had my son I got a staph infection in both of my breast when I was breastfeeding.  SOOOO, I’m a little worried about getting another staph infection.  Anyone that has ever had a staph infection knows how painful they are, and how dangerous they can be.  The doctor had pity on me today, and went ahead and started me on meds to help prevent an infection, and she will give me another around of meds during the surgery.  So hopefully no staph this time around.

I should only be down and out for a few days.  But, I will have to take it easy for SIX weeks, meaning it will be six weeks before I will be able to put full weight on that foot again.  And I have to wear the ugliest black shoe, EVER!  Hopefully I can toss the black shoe after a week or two, and just wear flip flops or something.  Just how I wanted to spend my summer!

I am thankful that my Aunt and Uncle are coming over to stay for a few days to help take care of the kiddos so I don’t have to stress about that.  It does take a load off knowing my babies will be in good hands, and that the hubby doesn’t have to alter his work schedule.

My brain needs a break from everything that has happened today.  The little man and I are getting ready to go curl up in bed, and watch some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Cheers to a fabulous day!

And this has been my day...

How has your day been!?!  Well, glad you asked, it has been, let me see:
·         Well, first thing this morning A woke up at around 1:00, and kept me up till about 3:00 this morning.  Thanks baby girl, I truly am getting used to our early morning sessions.  But, I will say I do miss my sleep, and so does my brain!
·         Then, while trying to iron my top this morning I burned my leg, actually it was my calf.  I’m sure you’re wondering how in the world did you burn your calf, while ironing your top!?!  Well, I will tell you how.  I’m lazy, and I didn’t want to get the ironing board out of the closet in my sons room, so, I just laid my top on the floor, and decided I would iron my top on the floor.  Since my brain is out on holiday right now, I didn’t pay any attention to the fact that my leg was being used as a resting place for the iron.  Ouch!  Kinda like the other day, when I was fixing some toast, and I went to pull it out of the oven without an oven mitten, yeah not too smart!
·         My face broke out in hives today, still not sure what caused this.  But let me say, this isn’t cool right before you go into a meeting.  I tried not to make eye contact with anyone.  They were probably thinking who brought the clown to the meeting.  All I could think about was, keep your head down, and no one will notice...
·         This afternoon, I get a call from the husband.  It went a little something like this, hey whatcha doing, oh nothing honey just sitting here at my desk picking my nose…  What are you doing, the same, great glad you called.  Come to find out, he did have a reason for calling me, he wanted to let me know that the school M is going to has an opening available for A.  GREAT, NOT!  So, the little lady will be starting school come April.  Insert here, stressing parent!
·         This evening has been full of sucking snot out of my children’s noses, sounds like fun doesn’t it.  Try not to be jealous!
·         While washing dishes tonight, I sliced my thumb open.  Again Ouch!
·         Since my brain is out on holiday, I had to do the post in a list format, it doesn’t require much thinking on my part.
·         I do need my brain to come back, or I’m going to seriously end up hurting myself!  And btw, who gave my brain the okay to take a holiday...

This is how we get things done in our house…  Who runs your house?  We like to think we do, but I’m no fool, that boy has us wrapped around his finger!  He says jump, and we say how high!

Hope you have had a fabulous Hump Day!  The kiddos are in bed, and that is where I’m getting ready to be…  I can honestly say, it is going to probably be a long night, since both kiddos are full of snot!

Goodnight sweet angels!
