A night away...

Howdy, how ya been!?!  Me, I'm here!  A little tired from the VERY packed holiday weekend, but I’m alive and did make it.  I was probably a little grumpy come Sunday, but you know what it's okay.  I had been going pretty much non-stop the entire month of November, who wouldn’t be a little grumpy!?!
The husband and I had our first night away from the kiddos this past weekend.  I have to say it was nice, it was nice getting to have one on one time (that we don't hardly ever get), it was nice not having to be in constant parent mode, and it was nice getting to be with our friends to celebrate the wedding of two of our closest friends.

***The husband doesn't like this picture, but it's the only one I have of us...  He looked so handsome in his tux!

It was a beautiful wedding, the bride was gorgeous and the groom was handsome.  We have known these two for at least seven - eight years, and we consider them family.  I’m so happy for them, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

As I did enjoy the night away, I was very excited to see my babies the next day.  Don’t tell anyone, but I think they missed me a little and were happy to see me too!  It’s just a feeling I got…
I did tell the husband that we need to do this again (soon).  It has been WAY too long, since we have gone out and acted immature, and sometimes I think you need to act immature, don’t you!?!  We celebrated, danced, talked, laughed, toasted each other, and didn’t worry about the problems of life!
Cheers to the happy couple!  And it's almost bedtime, I'm ready for bed, I need to sleep for like 72 hours...
Goodnight sweet angels!

The amazing race...

Where did my weekend go!?!  I blinked, and here it is Monday!  We actually had a pretty busy weekend, and the next few weeks seem to be just as busy between bridal showers, birthday parties, and family get togethers, I don’t know when my body is going to get any rest.  Yesterday was a nice day, but very long…  My feet hit the ground running from the time I stepped out of bed (around 7:30) until I did a face plant in my bed at 9 something last night.  I actually fall asleep on the couch cuddling with my son, while he watched his cartoons before bed, but don’t tell him.  He thought I was watching the show too…  My body just can’t keep up with a 2 ½ year old, heck I can’t even keep up with a 32 year old either, but I’m right there with a 90 year old.  Give me a bed, TV and a book and I’m set to sleep all day.
Last night, or should I say late afternoon (that would be night for me), the husband and I joined a group of friends for a couple’s wedding shower.  I have to say, this was the best shower I have ever been too.  It was at Dave & Buster’s, and they had cake balls.  Who doesn’t like Dave & Buster’s or cake balls, so you can already tell by where the shower was being held and the cake balls, that it was going to be fun.  The husband and I have gone on a many a dates at the good ole Dave & Buster’s.  The theme was the Amazing Ball & Chain (I think); it was based off of the Amazing Race (which I had never seen before).  So here we are the husband and I (incase you were wondering who we was), ready to get this party started, I know the layout of this mall probably better than anyone, so we thought we had this in the bag.  But let me state to have something in the bag, you need to pay attention to the instructions or at least read the instructions.  So we're off, I’m taking pictures like crazy, we are marking off all the little silly things we had to do, we are sweating like crazy, my foot is killing me (but I kept going, I didn't let the pain stop us, no pain no gain), but we are so proud of ourselves.  We had the first challenge done, along with all the pictures we needed, all 17!  As the husband goes to drop off the first present, he notices that some people are already done.  I’m like “NO WAY”!  I continue to tell my husband, “THEY MUST NOT HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS”!  So we continue to the next challenge, which I did great on, HIGH FIVE SHANNA, pat on the back and off we go to score another gift (I might have even done a little dance, maybe)!  The husband runs the gift back downstairs and comes back up to me and continues to tell me how even more people are finished.  AGAIN, I continue to say that is IMPOSSIBLE!  So we continue on doing the next two challenges.  As we get finished, we I learned that we were only supposed to have taken 5 PICTURES… NOT ALL 17, like we did…  GUESS WHO DIDN’T READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!  Yea that would be US!  But, because I always have a BUT, I was going by what someone told me, not pointing any fingers --->husband, I personally didn’t read the instructions, since he had the paper and was telling me what we needed to do, I just followed along (what does that tell you about me).  Next time, I'm in charge!  I will say, we did get some good photos that I hope will bring lots of laughter to the dear couple for many years!  But (because I have another one), we did make good timing getting all 17 photos, 4 challenges and gifts.  The husband and I ended up having a great time, and even though we didn't win first place playing the game, I did win the best prize, getting to spend one on one time with my love.  It has been a long time since we have been that silly together, so I truly enjoyed myself.  It was great getting to act like a kid last night, instead of a parent.  We lose track sometimes of who we are are to each other, since we are always in parent mode.  I think this happens to a lot of couples...
So, what have you learned from this…  Always read the instructions, don’t take your spouse’s word for it…  Honey I love you, and I’m glad for the time we had yesterday to be silly, laugh and hang-out together.  I miss our time together, more than you know!
So yeah, I’m exhausted after running up and down the mall yesterday.  Not to mention the kids and I went and had lunch with my family earlier in the day.  And since I’m a sucker, I took the kids to Toys "R" Us after lunch, because neither of my kids have enough toys, and decided to let the little man pick out pretty much whatever it was he wanted, since he has done an AWESOME job with potty training.  It has been a week and two days, and he is doing GREAT.  So, I ended up going a little overbroad at the store…  Especially since I went to Target Thursday and bought him three new toys.  I can’t help it; it’s in my blood to spoil my kids!
And I can't believe I didn't take one photo this weekend of my precious babies!  Shame on me, since I normally take 500...
Cheers to Monday almost being over, and me getting to see my bed in a few hours, and getting to be off my feet!

A night out on the town...

Photobucket

Yes, we did go out last night, but I learned a few things last night about myself…

1)   I’m no longer cool.
2)   I’m pretty lame.
3)   I don’t like to drink, and can’t hold my liquor at all.
4)  Cigarette smoke makes me very sick.
5)   I’m way more comfortable in my own surroundings, meaning my home in my pajamas.
6)  But I do still enjoy people watching.

When did this happen to me?  I use to enjoy going out and hanging with everyone, getting dressed up for a night out on the town.  Now, I would totally rather be at home with my husband and babies curled up on the couch watching cartoons, and the same cartoon over and over at that, than being out on the town.
I was truly looking forward to an evening out with the husband, and I did enjoy having the one on one time with him, but when he asked me about going to the movies, I should have known he knew I wouldn’t being able hang with the people in the bar.  I ended up getting sick after one drink, and ended up having to call the evening short due to me getting sick.  I know, I’m a party animal!  Poor husband, he took the night off, to spend the evening pretty much on the couch by himself, while I was sick in bed.

Thank you honey for taking me out, I’m sorry your wife is so lame!

Photobucket

And I have pretty much slept the day away today…  Next time, the movies it is!

I would like to know what happened to the once cool me, but maybe I wasn't as cool as I thought I once was!

Happy Saturday, hope wherever you are, you are having a fabulous day!

Someone is 2 1/2 years old today...

I woke up this morning, to a little man that is now 2 ½ years old!  Wow!  Time just keeps slipping away, or so it feels that way.  I look back at pictures from last year at this time, and wonder where my baby has gone.  You are no longer a baby.  Right now you are trying to show us you do have a voice, and want to make your own choices and discussions, which I applaud you for that.  I have said it many times, and I will continue to say it, you have the best personality, and don’t sweat the small stuff.  Yes you do throw tantrums, but what toddler doesn't!?!  You’re nice to everyone, and always willing to help.  You love your sister so much, and I can’t tell you how much that means to me.  I was scared that once I had your sister, things would change.  I’m so relieved that things haven’t.  You are so affectionate.  I love when I’m on the floor playing with you, and out of no where you will come over and give me a big hug with a kiss!  There are so many wonderful things about you little man!  We have been blessed with one awesome little boy, that has so many things to look forward too.  We are so proud of you, on so many levels.  We love you so much! .  I hope you don’t ever lose the love for life that you have.

I love that smile and the way your face lights up!

You will probably want to kill me one day for posting these pictures of you in your diaper, holding Minnie, with your sneakers on…

Photobucket

But, look how adorable you are!  You sure do love you some Minnie!

Today I’m a little jealous, my husband it getting to go to the Mavs playoff game tonight!  Its okay that just means mama will get to go shopping for a new outfit to wear out on the town this Friday night for our date night…  What, we are having a date night on a Friday!?!  Yes we are!  The husband sent me a text message last night letting me know he was going to be off, and for me to get a sitter, aka BeeBee and Jar.  I haven’t been out on a Friday night, in I know four years.  I’m looking forward to being on the other side for a night.

Speaking of other side, this little one wanted on the other side last night too.  Why!?!  Because that is where her mama was!

As the husband will be enjoy some male bonding time with his friends, I will be enjoying some cuddle time with my precious babies!

Goodnight sweet angels!

Just what this girl needed...

After an emotional Friday & Saturday, the husband took me out on an amazing date last night!  It has been almost two years since the husband and I have been out on a date like last night…  The show was AMAZING!  The creativity just blows me away.  If you haven’t ever been to see Cirque du Soleil, you are missing out.  This was our fourth time, going to one of their shows, and there is no way you will be disappointed.  After the show, my husband took me out to dinner, and surprised me with also inviting two of our dear friends.  That was an awesome extra little treat.  I truly enjoyed the night, and the company was great.  Hopefully the husband and I will be able to start having a date night at least once a month!  I will say, even though the evening was just what I needed, I did miss my little angels.  Last night was the first time, I didn’t get to put my baby girl to bed.  And I didn’t get to kiss either of babies before bed!  I was extremely excited to see them this morning.  The husband brought the kiddos to have lunch with me today for Valentine’s Day!  Oh, how going out to eat as a family always seems like a great idea, halfway through the meal between M getting into everything and A have a meltdown, all we want to do is get our check and get out of dodge as soon as possible. So no dessert for us…
Before our date last night, I was able to enjoy some much needed time with the kiddos.  My little angel has been having a rough go at it the past few days.  She was up all night Saturday, and was fussy most of the day yesterday.  But I was able to get a few smiles out of her yesterday.

Hey sweet baby girl…

Hey little man, whatcha got on your head!?!   Why not, pots make a great hat, nice fashion statement with the pj’s…

Sissy, I don’t think you are suppose to be under the kitchen table…  Mama has told you to stay off the tile floor…

I see you too…

Are you gonna help mama fold the laundry…?

No, bubba is going to help mama…
Sad part is that laundry has been in that basket since Friday, and didn’t get folded until today…  I can’t believe I just admitted we let laundry sit in the laundry basket for three days!  And daddy was the one that ended up folding the laundry, sucker...  It was a game, to see how long it would take, before one of us gave in to do the laundry...  Normally it is me that caves first...

Peekaboo…

I see you…
The little man was happy to get outside to play.  I was a little sad I wasn’t able to play outside with him as much as I wanted too, due to the little girl, but he had a great time.

We played with the sidewalk chalk M got for Valentine’s Day, working on our shapes…

Hey cutie, I’m glad the weather was nice so you could get outside to play…  I know you enjoyed being outside with Izzy, and getting to chase her around the backyard.

Look at that sweet smile!
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for our family!  Tomorrow we are going to enroll our little man into a mother’s day out program, where he will be going to school two days a week.  We are very excited about this, but also a little nervous.  This will be the first time that we have really left our little man in the care of someone else besides family.  I know it is time for this, and he needs it, but I’m sure mama will shed a tear or two.
The kiddos are in bed, and that is where I’m getting ready to be.  I haven’t slept well at all the past few nights.  So, I’m definitely ready for a goodnights rest.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Goodnight sweet angels!
